December 16, 2006 Bout: The Tannenbombers vs. Santa's Little Sleighers
In the spirit of the holidays, the Big Easy Rollergirls celebrated their last intra league bout of 2006 in full holiday regalia. Santa's Little Sleighers and The Tannenbombers vied
for the Glory in Excelsis
DERBY!
Fans took note
as the teams welcomed new derby girls to the
ranks. This was the very first bout for Beatrix
sKiddo and Ibeatya
Amber (Sleighers) and Lt.
Dan (Tannenbombers). Congratulations, ladies,
on a wonderful bout!
It was an incredibly well-matched lineup. The teams went back and forth with the winning score with each jam. At halftime, the Sleighers were ahead by three little "Christmas Wish" points.
Ultimately, the green-camo-bedecked Tannenbombers prevailed in the last minutes, with a final score of 62-56. Full recap and stats will be posted soon.
Special thanks to guest announcer Gingersnap and guest referee Hambone of the Gotham Girls Roller Derby. They returned to New Orleans because September's bout was just so much fun -- and because the Big Easy Rollergirls and fans just love them.
